BENEFITS

Simultaneous intracellular recording and optogenetic activation with a single manipulator.
APPLICATIONS
Whole-cell patch clamping, LFP recording, spike/single-unit recording, and more.
COMPATIBILITY
Available with common connectors from Axon, Heka and A-M Systems, and for capillary glass diameters between 1.2 mm and 2.0 mm.
IN THE BOX
Includes starter fiber, replacement seals, and a connecting mating sleeve for the ferrule.

Development

The Optopatcher was developed by A-M Systems under the guidance of its inventors, Dr. Ilan Lampl and Dr. Yonatan Katz of the Weizmann Institute of Science in Israel.

The Optopatcher is a new glass pipette holder for simultaneous patch clamp recording and optogenetic activation and eliminates the need for a separate manipulator for optical stimulation. (J Neurosci Meth 214 (2013) 113– 117)
